The live illustration service is a great way to add a unique touch to any event. Dan will create stunning watercolor illustrations of your guests right before their eyes, leaving them with a special memento of your event. Perfect for corporate events such as product launches, company events and sponsored events. Ideal also for baby showers, birthdays, weddings and hens nights.
Live Illustration: How it works
Dan will come to your event and set up wherever suits you. Guests will approach him for a quick photo and register on the sign up sheet. During the event he will illustrate at a cracking pace with his water colours and copics to create personalised mementos for the guests. Guests will be able to watch the magic unfold and check out all the illustrations as the collection builds. At the end of the event, you can choose to gift the illustrations to the guests to take home, or collect all the illustrations to use as thank you notes. Dan also has the option of photographing all the illustrations for the hosts.

What does the illustrator need?
A table and a comfortable chair plus space for an easel.
How are the illustrations created?
Using the photo he has snapped, Dan starts with a quick pencil sketch on A5 specialised card. He then uses copic markers to do the light features followed by water colours to create the outfits. He finishes off with polishing the art with black fine liner and sometimes gold, white or silver paint pens. The illustration then dries and is placed on display in a plastic sleeve and displayed for guests to enjoy.
How many illustrations per hour?
Dan can create approximately 5-6 A5 illustrations with 2 people, depending on the level of detail in the outfits. This allows Dan to interact with guests as part of the entertainment of your event.
How many people can be in the illustration?
Two people is ideal, but Dan can be flexible. Dan will paint group illustrations last, to keep up the pace at the event.
What if I have a large event and want more illustrations than can be done during the event time?
Dan can photograph guests and create post event illustrations and deliver them to the host to distribute.
Can I use the illustrations as thank you cards?
Hosts can select for guests not to take them home on the night and can take them home to post as thank you cards.
The guests will take them home, but can I get a copy?
Photography of each illustration is definitely an option. They will be sent as a digital link and are great for promotion or made into a keepsake for the host as a giant print.
Can I have the illustrations as a group art piece?
Absolutely, all illustrations can be scanned and put into a grid to be printed and framed. This can be done for all guests, or a selection like the wedding party or family groups. Alternatively, if you have a group photo you would like painted, this can be arranged. The price for these options is dependent on numbers of illustrations, so please ask Dan for an obligation free quote.
For my wedding, can I have a large scale portrait illustration?
Absolutely, don't hesitate to ask Dan for exactly what you want! The bridal couple will be done over a longer time period, after the event to allow Dan to add more detail and at the exact size requested.

Post event illustrations: $15 per card based on 1-2 people, cards to delivered to event hosts to be distributed.
Groups: $10 per person, these will be completed last or after the event.
